What F10 Means
F10 is a runaway temperature code: the electronic oven control sensed the oven getting hotter than it commanded. Electrolux’s service literature points at the oven temperature sensor (RTD) first; if the oven keeps overheating with power reapplied, the control or relay board is replaced. The owner guide calls it thermal runaway and advises a reset by disconnecting power for up to 30 seconds.
Common Causes of F10
- Oven temperature sensor (RTD) out of range
- Relay on the control welded closed so the element stays on
- Sensor wiring shorted
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the oven off and let it cool completely. Reset it by switching off the breaker for 30 seconds. If F10 returns, or the oven heats with nothing selected, leave the breaker off and book service. On gas ranges also close the range’s gas shutoff if the oven stays lit.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- An oven that heats without being told is a fire risk until the relay or sensor is fixed.
- Relay boards and sensor wiring are behind the rear panel on live circuits.
