An Electrolux range is really two appliances sharing one cabinet: a cooktop section that may be gas, electric or induction, and an oven section that runs its own Wave-Touch control logic, temperature sensor and, on most models, Luxury-Glide racks. Because the two sides run largely independent electronics, a problem confined to the cooktop — a single burner or element not heating — rarely has anything to do with an oven problem happening at the same time, and we diagnose them as separate systems even when they are reported together.

On the cooktop side, gas ranges are checked for igniter condition, burner alignment and gas flow before any valve or igniter is replaced, and if gas is ever smelled during that process the visit stops immediately rather than continuing — that is not a repair situation, it is a call for the gas utility or emergency services from outside the home. Electric and induction cooktops are checked at the element or coil, the control board and the connecting wiring harness, since a single dead element is very often that element’s own connection rather than the whole control board.

On the oven side, temperature accuracy is measured with an independent thermometer rather than trusted to the display, since a control board can report a temperature it is not actually reaching. Self-clean lockouts, uneven baking and no-heat complaints are each traced to the igniter or bake element, the temperature sensor, or the door lock assembly in turn, with the range unplugged or isolated at the breaker throughout any work behind the control panel.
