What i61 Means
i61 is heating over temperature: the water was measured above 78 degrees C (about 172 F) and the cycle was stopped. Either the heater stayed on when it should have switched off, or the temperature reading is wrong.

- Heater relay stuck on
- Temperature sensor reading low so the heater never shuts off

- Water that hot can damage plastics and seals.
