What F20 Means
F20 is a communication failure between the oven control and the ESEC, the electronic surface element control that runs the cooktop on smoothtop and induction ranges. The service manual first asks whether the surface control has power at all, then checks the communication harness, then the ESEC board, and finally the oven control. The owner guide lists F20 with F3 and F26 as communication errors.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Reset the range at the breaker for 30 seconds. Note whether the cooktop displays are blank at the same time; that means the surface control lost power and is useful to report.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Supply checks inside the console are on 120 V and 240 V circuits.
- Board order matters to avoid replacing a good part.
