What F91 Means
F91 means the maximum number of oven door unlock attempts was exceeded. The control tried several times to unlock and gave up. The checks are the same as for F90: micro switch wiring, binding latch parts and the lock motor.
Common Causes of F91
- Latch cam or rod binding
- Lock motor weak
- Micro switch failure
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Make sure the oven is cool. Reset at the breaker for 30 seconds and try once. If the door stays locked, leave it.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Repeated forced attempts can strip the lock motor gear.
- The lock assembly is under the cooktop or top panel.
