What i20 Means
i20 means the unit did not drain completely: the level switch restore point was not reached within 90 seconds of the drain pump starting. Electrolux’s owner guide gives the checks in order: disposer knockout plug removed, drain hose not pinched, drain hose loop at least 32 inches from the floor, and filters and sump clear.
Common Causes of i20
- Filter or sump clogged with food
- Disposer knockout plug never removed
- Drain hose kinked or loop too low
- Drain pump blocked or failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Take out the lower rack, lift out the filter assembly and clean it and the sump under it. If the dishwasher drains into a garbage disposer that was just installed, make sure the knockout plug inside the disposer inlet was removed. Check the drain hose under the sink for a kink, then reset by pressing Cancel or switching off the breaker for three minutes.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The drain pump is under the tub and removing it means pulling the dishwasher out.
- A check valve stuck shut behaves like a failed pump and needs parts access.
