What i51 Means
i51 is an asynchronous wash motor problem: the service manual says the wash pump is running without being switched on by the software, the cause being a short circuit. The heater is not activated, the fill valve tops up to the level switch and the cycle is suspended.
Common Causes of i51
- Short circuit in the wash pump control circuit
- Pump triac or relay on the board failed shorted

Switch off the breaker. A pump that runs on its own is not something to test by restarting.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A pump that runs uncommanded points at a board or wiring short, a live-circuit job.
- Board replacement must be matched to the model.
