What i5A Means
i5A is an over temperature or overload code: the wash pump drew 0.68 amps, or the drain pump 0.55 amps, continuously for 10 seconds. A pump working that hard for that long is usually fighting debris or a restriction.
Common Causes of i5A
- Drain restriction loading the drain pump
- Debris dragging on the wash impeller
- Pump bearing wear
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Clean the filter and the sump, and check the drain hose for kinks. A blocked drain makes the drain pump strain.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the path is clear, the pump itself needs testing from below.
- Continued overload shortens motor life.
