What Door Ajar Means
Door Ajar sounds when a door has been open for five minutes or more; the indicator lights and the tone continues until the door is closed. Electrolux’s French-door article says to close the door and press Set to reset.
Common Causes of Door Ajar
- Door left open
- Item holding the door slightly open
- Door switch not being pressed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Close the door and press Set. If the alarm sounds with the door closed, check that the door is not held open slightly by a shelf item, and that the door switch or magnet area is not blocked.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A door that will not stay shut may need hinge or gasket repair.
- A failed door switch is replaced inside the cabinet.
