What SH Means
SH means a shorted thermistor. As with OP, the position tells you which: SH in the fridge window is a shorted fresh-food thermistor, SH in the freezer window a shorted freezer thermistor. Electrolux’s owner article includes SH among the service-required codes.
Common Causes of SH
- Thermistor shorted internally
- Moisture in a thermistor connection
- Wiring pinched against the cabinet
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Record which window shows SH, and watch temperatures with a thermometer. Water leaking into the cabinet near a sensor can short it, so mention any recent leaks.

- The sensor and harness are behind panels.
- The data sheet asks for checks for pinched or damaged wires first.
