What SY CE Means
SY CE is the second communication code on Electrolux French-door refrigerators. The service data sheet separates it from SY CF by timing: SY CE is a user interface and main control board communication error after a period in operation, not at start-up.
Common Causes of SY CE
- Harness wire fatigued in the door hinge
- Connector loosening with vibration
- Board communication circuit failing when warm
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check whether the code appears when a particular door is opened; a harness that breaks contact as the hinge moves can cause an intermittent SY CE. Unplug for one minute and restart once, then book service if the code returns.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The hinge harness has to be traced with the door partly removed.
- Boards should only be replaced after the wiring is ruled out.
