What E13 Means
E13 means the control saw the water level in the tub drop when it should have held: the service chart describes it as a water leak in the tub or an air leak in the air bell, the small chamber that lets the pressure sensor read the level. Either a real leak or a loose pressure tube can cause it.
Common Causes of E13
- Water escaping at the door boot, a hose clamp or the tub seal
- Air leak in the air bell or the tube to the pressure sensor
- Pressure sensor reading incorrectly after the leak checks pass
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the washer, open the door and look under the front for water. Wipe the door boot folds and check whether a sock is trapped between the boot and the glass, which can let water weep out during tumbling. If the floor is wet, stop running loads and note where the water collects, front, side or rear, before booking.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Finding a tub or air-bell leak means removing the front or rear panel with the washer powered and partly filled, which is a job for someone who can do it safely.
- Running more loads while E13 appears can soak the floor and the flooring beneath it.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
