What E59 Means
E59 means no tachogenerator signal for 3 seconds while the motor should be turning. Electrolux’s test checks free rotation of motor and tub, then the tacho winding between pins 4 and 5 (105 to 130 ohms), then the three motor windings.
Common Causes of E59
- Motor plug unplugged or loose after earlier service or shipping
- Tachogenerator winding open
- Motor stalled mechanically
- Motor control board not reading the signal
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the washer and turn the drum by hand. If it turns freely, the problem is electrical and needs service; if it is stiff or stuck, mention that when you book, because a jammed drum can stop the motor and make the tacho go quiet.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The motor plug is on the motor under the tub, reached through the rear or bottom.
- A stalled motor that is powered repeatedly can overheat.
