What EF2 Means
EF2 means too much soap. Electrolux’s chart gives the action as advising the owner to reduce the amount of detergent. Excess suds cushion the drum and confuse the level sensor, so the washer adds rinses or pauses to break them down.
Common Causes of EF2
- Too much detergent for the load
- Regular detergent instead of high-efficiency
- Soft water making normal doses foam heavily
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Use only high-efficiency detergent and measure to the first line on the cap, or less for soft water and small loads. For pods, one per load. Run an empty rinse cycle to clear what is left in the tub.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- EF2 is almost always solved by dosing, so a service call is rarely needed.
- If EF2 appears with correct dosing, the level sensor or air trap may be misreading, which is a service job.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
