The EIGD55I monitors air entering the drum with an inlet thermistor as well as the outlet one. E73 means that sensor reads open and E74 means shorted; the expected range is tens of kilohms at room temperature, so the reading tells us quickly whether it is the sensor.
Lint that escapes a worn filter collects around the burner on an EIGD55I. We vacuum the burner area on every gas service call; it is a fire risk as well as a heating problem.
