What EF8 Means
EF8 means a key is stuck. Electrolux’s tech sheet says to check the buttons for activation when pressed and replace the console or interface board as appropriate.
Common Causes of EF8
- Button held down by residue or an object
- Key shorted inside the console
- Interface board failure
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press each button and feel for one that stays down. Clean the panel with a barely damp cloth and dry it. Make sure nothing rests on the control panel, such as a basket on a stacked pair.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The keypad and interface board are inside the console.
- Forcing keys can tear the membrane.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
