What i54 Means
i54 means the wash pump will not follow its commanded speed because the rotor is locked. The service manual lists dirt, too high a load and mechanical problems on the impeller as reasons, detected at start-up or while running.

- Foreign object jammed in the wash pump
- Impeller damaged
- Wash pump bearing seized
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With the breaker off, remove the filter and look into the sump for anything wedged, such as a toothpick, a bone or glass. Also check that no item hangs below the lower rack and blocks the spray arm, which can load the pump.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Reaching the impeller means taking the sump apart.
- Forcing the impeller can crack it.
