What E52 Means
E52 means the motor stopped or will not start. The tech sheet lists motor overheating, a load too heavy, low supply voltage, or a defective motor or wiring, and notes that if the motor’s thermal protector has tripped it may take up to 30 minutes to reset.
Common Causes of E52
- Load too heavy or wet for the drum
- Motor thermal protector tripped from overheating
- Drum rollers or belt binding
- Low voltage at the receptacle
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Take the load out and turn the drum by hand; it should move without catching. Remove anything heavy and wet, such as a rug with rubber backing. Let the dryer sit unplugged for 30 minutes so the motor protector can reset, then try an empty timed cycle.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Belt, rollers and motor are reached by removing the front of the cabinet.
- A motor that overheats repeatedly may be on its way out or fighting a seized roller.
