What E53 Means
E53 is a motor centripetal switch failure. The centripetal switch inside the motor closes once the motor is up to speed, and the heater is only allowed on after that. Electrolux lists the switch, the board and the wiring, and says to check whether the switch is stuck open or closed before replacing the motor.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Nothing on the motor switch is owner-serviceable. Make sure the drum turns freely with the dryer unplugged, since a motor that struggles to reach speed can make the switch report late.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The switch is part of the motor, so the fix is usually a motor replacement.
- Testing requires reaching the motor harness under the drum.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
