What E61 Means
E61 is a heater relay failure. On the Electrolux tech sheet the heater relays are stuck open or closed, or wiring is defective. A relay stuck closed can keep the heater powered when the cycle is stopped, which is why the service check looks for voltage at the heater outputs with the dryer idle.

- Heater relay contacts welded closed
- Heater relay failed open
- Wiring at the heater relay damaged
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If the dryer feels hot when it is not running, or the drum is warm long after the cycle ended, unplug it or switch off its breaker right away. Otherwise, stop using it and book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A heater that stays on with the drum stopped is a fire risk.
- The relays are on the control board and are checked at 240 V connections.
