What E 2-E 8 Means
On the Electrolux Icon 36-inch induction cooktop an error shows as E in the cook-zone display with the number in the main timer display. Codes 2, 3 and 4 are left front zone key sensor failures in the service chart and 6, 7 and 8 the left rear; the corrective action is the same for all six: test the cables between the left-side zone touch control and the main power control, then replace the left-side touch control.

- Spill or object over the left-side keys
- Cable between the left touch control and main power control loose
- Left-side cook zone touch control failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Wipe the glass over the left-side keys dry and remove any pan handle, utensil or cloth resting there. Switch off the breaker for 30 seconds, as Electrolux asks before any part is replaced, and try again.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The touch controls are under the glass; lifting the top risks cracking it.
- The manual warns that several changing codes usually mean a disconnected cable, which is checked before parts are ordered.
