What EF1 Means
On Electrolux dryers EF1 means the vent is blocked. The owner guide says to check the lint filter, look for bends or restrictions in the exhaust tube and clear obstructions at the vent exit, and describes it as a known installation issue. The tech sheet adds the exhaust and inlet thermistors as possible causes.
Common Causes of EF1
- Lint build-up in the vent run
- Duct crushed behind the dryer
- Vent run too long or with too many elbows
- Exterior vent hood stuck or blocked
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Clean the lint filter and vacuum its slot. Pull the dryer forward and straighten or replace any crushed foil duct with rigid or semi-rigid metal duct. Outside, run the dryer and check that the vent flap opens and air flows strongly.

- Roof or long wall vents may need a professional vent cleaning.
- If the vent is clear, the thermistors need testing inside the cabinet.
