What F9 Means

F9 on older Electrolux built-in wall ovens is a door latch problem: the door motor failed or jammed, a latch motor switch failed, a stuck relay or wiring. The manual’s steps are CLEAR, then a 30-second power off, then lock motor, lock switch and door switch checks.

Common Causes of F9

  • Lock motor jammed or failed
  • Lock switch failure
  • Relay stuck on the control

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Press CLEAR. If that does not work, switch off power for 30 seconds. Let the oven cool fully if it was self-cleaning.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • Lock motor tests apply line voltage directly to the motor.
  • Forcing a locked door can damage the latch.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
