The EFME527UTT uses a small cold-water line for Instant Refresh and steam. If that valve is shut, or the hose screen is blocked, the dryer still runs but the steam options do nothing, which looks like a failure but is often a supply issue.
Its LuxCare Lint Shield adds a second, finer screen. When owners clean only the main filter, the second screen loads up and the EFME527UTT starts to run hot, which is how thermal fuses end up open.
