What Power Fail Means
On an Icon all-refrigerator column the POWER FAIL light means that during a power failure the cabinet climbed above 55 F. If the outage lasted more than an hour, the display alternates between the outage duration and the cabinet temperature, to help decide what food to keep.
Common Causes of Power Fail
- Power outage long enough for the cabinet to warm
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Read the duration shown, then press ALARM OFF. Discard perishables that sat above 40 F for more than two hours.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- No repair is needed unless the column fails to cool afterward.
- Repeated power fails without outages suggest a supply problem.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
