What EF8 Means
EF8 means a key is stuck. The Electrolux chart’s action is to check all buttons; a key held down for too long, by a stuck button or a leaning object, makes the control stop.
Common Causes of EF8
- Button stuck from residue or a spill
- Object leaning on the control panel
- Key membrane or interface board failure
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press each button on the console once and feel for one that does not spring back. Wipe the panel with a damp cloth to clear sticky residue, keeping moisture off the edges. Make sure nothing, such as a laundry basket, rests against the panel.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A key that is shorted internally needs the console opened and the interface board replaced.
- Prying at buttons can damage the membrane.
