What E5C Means
E5C means the motor control board saw voltage that was too high. Electrolux’s test 12 is to have the power company check the frequency and voltage of the incoming supply; if the supply is correct, the motor control board is replaced.
Common Causes of E5C
- High supply voltage from the utility service
- Loose neutral in the house wiring
- Motor control board sensing circuit failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Note whether other appliances or lights in the house behave oddly, such as flickering or bulbs burning out. Plug the washer straight into its own receptacle. If supply problems are suspected, the utility can check the service at the meter.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A loose neutral is a house wiring hazard that needs an electrician, not an appliance fix.
- Replacing the board without ruling out the supply can destroy the new board.
