What E45 Means
E45 is listed on the Electrolux chart as a line door sensing failure: the control is not reading the powered side of the door lock circuit correctly. It points at the lock, its wiring or the input on the main board.
Common Causes of E45
- Door lock wiring damaged where it passes the door boot
- Door lock assembly failed internally
- Main board sensing input failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the washer for one minute to reset the control, then try one short cycle. Do not open panels to look at the lock wiring; leave the door closed and book service if the code returns.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The circuit in question carries line voltage to the lock.
- The harness runs along the front panel where it can be pinched when the panel is refitted.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
