What E69 Means
E69 is a heating element relay failure, the relay that switches the heater on and off. The chart applies the same test as E67 and E68: the element should measure about 14 ohms, it should be open to ground, and only then is the main board replaced.
Common Causes of E69
- Heater relay on the main board stuck or open
- Heating element open
- Loose heater connector
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Switch to cold-water cycles until the washer is looked at. Nothing about the relay can be checked from outside the cabinet.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A relay that sticks closed can keep the heater on with no water covering it.
- The element test is done from the rear with the tub drained.
