What E71 Means
E71 is a failure of the drum water NTC, the temperature sensor fitted with the tub heater. Test 14 expects it to read around 4.8 kilohms at room temperature; if it does not, Electrolux replaces the heating element, which carries the sensor.
Common Causes of E71
- Water temperature sensor open or shorted
- Sensor connector loose at the heater
- Wiring between the sensor and the main board
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Cold and warm cycles that do not rely on the internal heater may still run. Note which cycles give E71; that tells the technician whether it appears only when heating is called for.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The sensor is part of the heating element assembly in the bottom of the tub.
- A wrong sensor reading can let the heater run too hot or not at all.
