The RH36PC60GS is Electrolux’s island version of its glass-canopy chimney hood, hanging from the ceiling over a cooktop with open space on every side rather than mounting to a wall. Because an island hood has no wall behind it to help contain rising air, it is more sensitive to cross-drafts from a nearby window, door or HVAC vent than a wall-mount hood is, and that is worth ruling out before assuming the blower itself is underperforming.
Ceiling mounting hardware is checked periodically on this model, since a canopy that has settled even slightly out of level over years of use can make one side of the hood draw less effectively than the other.
